"An excellent waste, if fitted correctly! The only problem with this waste is if its fitted to a bath with a shower above it as it sits proud and can catch your toe. Far easier to use and more reliable that a mechanical waste. Standard fitting procedures apply, i.e ALWAYS use silicon or plumbers mate when fitting a waste as if you dont it will eventually leak as the rubber washer perishes with time."
"The waste body is excellent, but the mating of the banjo and washers is poor and the washer material is poor. The instructions say to apply silicone when installing the overflow but not the main unit. When draining the bath the water in the banjo simply leaks down the thread of the main unit (the plastic retaining nut thread is not a tight match to the main body thread). There's no mention in the instructions of applying any sealant there. I'm not an expert but I suggest using plumbers mate or similar on the threads and sealing all mating surfaces well."
"The fitted appearance is good but I can only repeat the comments of previous reviewers that it needs lots of sealer to stop it leaking. In my case it leaked down the threads between the nut and fitting. More sealer seemed to cure it."
"THIS BATH WASTE LOOKS GOOD BUT IS NOT AS GOOD ASTHE SRUNG BASIN WASTE. THE SPRING PLUG SITS TOO PROUD OF THE HOUSING IN THE CLOSED POSITION WHERE THE THE BASIN WASTE FITS FLUSH.IF YOU MOVE YOUR FOOT OVER THE PLUG WHILST BATHING ,IT POPS UP"
"This item is a gamble, for some the loads of sealant works and the item wont leak but like me for some it leaks. It's solid build but when it comes to the bits they are not 100% compatible quality. I lost the extra money buying a poorer quality item that does not leak. Take your gamble and good luck because you can't take it back with its used look and seal wrapped around, nor do you want feel like begging."
"This waste has been made with far too many seperate parts. Unless you have the time to apply silicone between all surfaces and can wait for it to dry, choose another waste. I opted for the cheaper pop up in the end and it is far superior."
The instructions say use a bead of sealant...i've put sealant on every washer, both sides and it still leaks. I've put PTFE tape around the thread and it still leaks. I've sealed around the outside of the nut and finally got it to stop leaking.
On the plus side the plug itself doesn't leak / drain away water when the bath is full like some of the other reviewers have experienced.
Quality = Poor. The replacement 'twist' style waste I purchased from Screwfix is like a Bentley in comparison.
Fitting = Difficult to get it to seal at overflow, waste and pipe connections
Design = it is not like a basin pop waste. The sealing section sits on top rather than inside the waste pipe so protrudes a lot.
In use = I have a double ended bath so a central drain. If you slightly move when bathing the thing opens and drains the water out so useless. Also it sticks up so much you catch your toe on it when showering.
In a show home it would be great. In use its terrible. Dont waste your money.""
"expensive for a bath waste, but i thought it looked good and was modern so i bought it.It would be great if it stopped the water from leaving the bath!!!!! Filled the bath one day, was busy on the computer for half an hour, whent to get in bath but water had gone:( You can lay in the bath and listen to the relaxing sound of your water emptying down the drain, or you can lay with your foot on the thing and see if you can get it to seal.Hours of fun NOT! seal obviously not good enough."
