"An excellent waste, if fitted correctly! The only problem with this waste is if its fitted to a bath with a shower above it as it sits proud and can catch your toe. Far easier to use and more reliable that a mechanical waste. Standard fitting procedures apply, i.e ALWAYS use silicon or plumbers mate when fitting a waste as if you dont it will eventually leak as the rubber washer perishes with time."
"Modern bath waste looks very smart and satisfying to use. Easy to use for elderly without bending down. Fitted at home. Our own first one needed replacing after a couple of years (sprung catch not holding it down)but with a large family it saw a lot of use. Wipe a little Fernox LS-X quick cure silicone between each sealing surface and water tight is a virtual given first time."
"I bought this as a replacement for my existing plug/chain/waste, when updating our bathroom. This was easy to fit and works as you would expect. As others have said the plug does sit a few mm proud of the waste when closed but it doesn't matter, also you do need to seal all mating surfaces (back nut/rubber washers) to prevent leaks, first fit leaked when not sealed. My only other minor gripe is the the main body of the waste was about 30 mm longer than the previous one, so I had to buy a flexible waste union to marry the waste up. Other than that I would recommend 100%."
"I purchased this a couple of years ago, it looks good and was apparently easy to fit. The only problem is the seal on the plug has gone hard and it therefore doesn't hold the bathwater, you can hear it running away whilst in the bath. I would give this product excellent marks if replacement seals could be provided. I've just had to buy a whole new one today, just for the plug, it was either that or have to replace the whole thing with something new. £18.49 for to replace a seal seems rather expensive."
"It looks good and works well but is tricky to fit. Must use sealant above and below hole in bath. Must use PTFE tape on thread where back-nut fits otherwise water will run through thread. Use IRWIN Quickgrip or similar clamp to hold bottom of thread whilst tightening nut. The overflow doesn't project far which is good when used with shower mixer tap."
"The waste body is excellent, but the mating of the banjo and washers is poor and the washer material is poor. The instructions say to apply silicone when installing the overflow but not the main unit. When draining the bath the water in the banjo simply leaks down the thread of the main unit (the plastic retaining nut thread is not a tight match to the main body thread). There's no mention in the instructions of applying any sealant there. I'm not an expert but I suggest using plumbers mate or similar on the threads and sealing all mating surfaces well."
