"Very pleased with this light, used a small strip of foil tape across the top half of the PIR sensor to stop it picking up cars as the light was mounted only 4 meters away from the street. I had turned down the sensitivity control but it wasn't quit enough. All in all a very good light, seems well made, I did away with the 35w halogen bulbs supplied and used 2 x 4w cool white led GU10's - looks very stylish and nice spread of light."
I would recommend this light to anyone as it looks great, but I'd really suggest putting a bit of tape over the backs of the bolts before you screw the body to the wall otherwise they keep pushing through. (Which is a real pain when it starts raining while you're up the ladder fitting it!)"
"Fitted 2 of these to a detached double garage front aspect.
Easy enough to fit but I would recommend making the fixing bolts that attach through the mounting bracket to the light captive before installing. This makes life a lot easier when attaching the light to the bracket. I used a small section of 3M duct tape on the back of the mounting bracket to stop the bolts moving out of position.
Setup is easy enough and standard fodder. I found the PIR even cranked up to maximum to have an effective range of about 5 / 6 metres (mounted at 2 metres high) which will be good enough for most installations.
They look great, nice construction and superb value at under £20 a unit presently."
"Bought 8 of these for new extension. Replaced the halogens with leds (2w up 4w down). They look great and work well. I chose these stainless steel fittings to avoid rust stains, so was disappointed when 2 months later noticed every pair of washers and nuts on the front of the units had started to corrode, some causing rust stains to spread down the walls!
LAP really need to improve the spec for the fixings as they let down an otherwise great unit.
My local screwfix store has been great, giving me some free s/stl M5 dome nuts and washers to replace the ones that came with the units.
Long term concerns: how long will the PIRs last? They seem to be the weak point on outdoor lights. Also, if the wall screws are not stainless steel (as I suspect), how long until they produce rust streaks on the wall?
"Well made light fitting, but ver awkward to install. Very limited space in the back box for twin and earth which makes it difficult to install. The sensor is very good and car detect at a good distance.
Reliability is questionable, this is my second replacement within a year."
