Failed after 16 months

"Fitted 2 of these to Daughter's storage boiler, lower element failed after 16 months.
To be fair was set at 70C so it took a lot of punishment.
I recall my parent's electric thermostat lasted for years and years so I expected a longer life.
Will replace same item but set at 60-65C which theoretically should improve life."
