Croydex tumbler holder

" Great for covering existing fixings in a tiled bathroom. When you cannot get a bracket to fix the existing holes the glue option works well. Held first time on the tiles. Would definitely use again. "

Croydex Flexi-fix not flexible
26 Oct 2015

" I bought several of these 'flexi-fix' accessories, as I have just built a brand new house and have to use plasterboard fixings on all walls. As most modern bathroom accessories have very small mounting brackets, it was becoming impossible to use two fixings on each item.
I bought these as they can either be screwed, or they come with glue and a sticky pad to fix to the wall. The only problem is that the glue doesn't stick to painted walls! This glass tumbler is far too heavy for the glue, it lasted about 24 hours before falling off the wall and smashing on the tiled floor (and I did wait the recommended time for the glue to dry before mounting). Even the lightweight toilet roll holders have failed; only being held on by the little sticky pad provided to centre and align the bracket.
Essentially a good concept but the glue needs to be much better, ie able to adhere to painted walls. These can be fixed with traditional screws, but you pay extra for the 'flexi-fix'', so what is the point?
