"not unpacked the 4" grinder yet but 9" grinder has no plug, first time in about 20 years thats happened, very inconvenient and another trip out to buyone.previous grinder(not hitachi) had a clip fix guard, very easy to use, hitachi uses allen key,not very easy to use and allen key isprone to getting lost. other big gripe is it does not come with a case so can't keep everything together easily. still its good value for money(less than 9" on its own) and it works well"
"I already have a 110v AC transformer. It made excellent sense to pay half price for two grinders than double the price for one. the 9 inch grinder has paid for itself several times over even in the these first days of ownership. it is perfect for the job i am doing, doesn't get any better..."
"Great value for money. Only draw back is you have to purchase a 110v plug (38908) costing £1.75 for the 9" grinder. I thought electrical items had to be sold with a plug. There could be some idiot out there who wires a 240v plug to this!!"
"Yes, they certainly seem to be a bargain, yet it must firstly be noted that the larger grinder does not have a plug fitted.....so you'll need to put one in your basket and do it yourself! Secondly, these initially seem to be purposefully 'budget' items as the usual metal hub and fitting of the guard is not quite right and extremely poorly designed on the 125mm version; which can pop off when you turn the guard around. This has never happened on any grinder I've used before of any price. As for reliability, who can as yet say. Will this still be on sale in a years time? I wonder whether the more expensive items, available singly, have these points ironed out?"
"This is a good hitachi product, and a good deal,i just recieved 2 sets and was very disapointed to find that there is no plug on the 110 volt,230 mm grinder , a factory fitted plug always seems to last much longer"
