"Needed this to keep the Jackdaws and Rain out of my woodburner flue. Once you gain access to the top of the chimney pot, it's very easy to fit, and takes just a few minutes. The catalogue description can be misleading as it says it fits pots up to 250mm diameter, my new chimney pot has an outside diameter of 265mm! I bought this anyway, and once collected I found the internal diameter of the base (which fits directly on to the top of the chimney pot), was 300mm, and the supplied stainless steel jubilee fixing clip can accommodate a pot size of up to 312mm in diameter. For a Clay/Terracotta chimney pot insert, which would serve the same function, I was quoted £156 + VAT, so was pleased with this as a solution. Hope this helps."

Review 2 for Birdguard Aluminium & Stainless Steel Chimney 240 x 310mm
"Previous 'wigwam' birdguard did not stop starlings and small birds forcing their way into the chimney pot and down the flue. This birdguard gives complete protection from all birds (strong starling types and small types) with the added advantage of keeping 'direct' rain out."

Review 3 for Birdguard Aluminium & Stainless Steel Chimney 240 x 310mm
"This product is strong and effective enough to keep bird, debris, and rain from coming down the chimney. It doesn't look "odd" on top of the chimney pot.
I bought one in May 2010, and in January 2013 was awakened by the sound of the lid of the guard tumbling down the roof. Seems that the aluminium uprights connecting the top had worn through. The rest of it is still securely fixed to the chimney pot.
Ok, it's a harsh evironment up there for it with the wind, rain, and smoke from the chimney, but you need to be aware that this product had not lasted even three years.
