"I found this product worked really well.
Obviously you need some tools to strip the wires down but once you have done that and placed the wires int he correct tracks it's just a case of closing the connector which caused the wires to make contacts with the conducts."

"Item is very good for attaching wires. However, the tool free, which is a plastic lever, is useless. You need far more pressure than you can exert with the plastic lever. Had to use a set of plumbers pliers and being very careful, managed to pinch the plastic parts together without damage."

""tool free" - with or without a tool - it is essential the connector punctures the insulators to get to the conductor(s) underneath.
fortunately I have network testers to find the fault - on disassembly it was clear that only 2 out of 8 lines could have made a connection.
only good point was the simple surface mount this came with.
several hours wasted
reverting to a more professional punch down socket - so I can see that it has connected!"
