"I purchased and fitted one of these about 5yrs ago. It's never filled me confidence -the timber is really soft and cheap quality. The plastic feet are also made of cheap quality plastic and one snapped off after a few months. The hinges for the ladder attach using wood screws. Over time these had to be replaced with bolts as they ripped out easily from the soft timber. It is described as having a 'draughtproof hatch', but in reality this was just a length of rubber profile thrown in with the pack, with no apparent means of how it should be fitted. I used a self-adhesive sponge draught sealer in the end at an extra cost. Given that a loft hatch can take sometime to install, its worth fitting a quality one if it will get used a fair amount. With hindsight i would have fitted a far superior Fakro loft ladder, at only a marginally higher cost."
