"I'm a Sparky and have fitted loads of downlights over the years, this was a job for my own home and thought I'd chance these ones to see what they were like, good job this was not for a customer.
The build quality of these is ok and they look nice once in but I wouldn't buy again due to the silly springs on these that are becoming popular with other makes as well. Firstly the cut out at 73mm makes them very tight and these daft springs, which don't go in under any tension and rely on the short end digging into the plasterboard to create tension for the long end to keep it in the ceiling, end up wrecking the hole you've cut to an extent and sometimes they don't lock in properly. So what ever was wrong with the usual spring under tension?! Far easier than this rubbish. Oh and adjusting the height of the springs to allow for thicker ceiling does not make it any easier."
