"I purchased this item to do everyday tasks on my home renovation. It's a light basically but has good features like a lamp guard and a stand so its universal in plenty of ways.
I have been using this mainly under the suspended downstails floor and it lights it all up like christmas (5mx5m) giving ample light to work away.
I only have 2 gripes about the item and from what i have been using it for:
It does get very hot in use, but it has a handle on it to move it which is fine, and i feel that the cable length for me is a tad short as i have to lug an extension cable with it to work under the floor, if it had an extra metre of cable it would have 5 stars for performance. But overall it is excellent value and does the job."
"It makes me laugh when I see people write reviews for products that are so cheap they are almost disposable.
I have 4 of these lights and a few of the more powerful ones too. One of the 120w ones had a dead bulb when I plugged it in but the bulbs are so cheap I just went and bought some spares and hey presto.
The temptation to go for the more powerful lights (which I also have) but the big ones kick out huge amounts of heat whereas the 120W is very bright and does not get so hot.
I would certainly buy them again and so cheap, get some spare bulbs."
"Bought this for use when painting an en-suite where the lighting is disconnected. It puts out enough light to illuminate a medium sized bedroom. If you need more light, at £11.51 including Sale discount, a second lamp seems very reasonable. Some earlier comments related to problems with the lamp tube working loose in its housing during transit. The one I purchased came with the tube packed separately inside the lamp housing, so I had to go through the steps to replace a tube in order to fit it. Have a dry cloth handy to avoid direct contact when handling the tube as this may shorten its life. The instructions were clear and I had no problems. Can't really comment on reliability as I've only had it for a few days but the housing and stand seem robust enough and the unit is described as 'splash proof'. At the price, I can't fault it. Recommended!"
"I bought 4 lamps when on a special deal - so my comments should be read in that light. (excuse pun). The purpose was for additional light at an evening garden party. Being only 120w the light was not overpowering - but will be more than adequate when used for DIY jobs in future. Make sure you select the model with the voltage that you need : 110v or 240v. The only negative comment would be that the lead is slightly short at 1.5m - but for the price it feels churlish even to mention."
