"I have been using these kettles for many years, as stated above they will rust if you wash them. However these kettles are not designed to be washed out, they are metal for a reason. That reason is that after a period of time and an accumulation of paint you burn them out. I know this is a bit old school for some people but this is what they are designed for. After burning out they need to be sanded down and knotted inside and out, this will prevent any further rusting. Hope this is helpful to future users."
"I have used the paint kettle on 3 or 4 occasions. Every time I've finished with it, I've washed it out and immediately dried it with paper towel. On each occasion that I've gone back to re-use it, one or two days later, it's been covered in rust inside and out."
