Good for tight spots

"I bought one of these to cut a 42mm waste pipe that was in a pipe chase and impossible to reach with a hack saw and it was perfect for this job. The initial turn is the hardest and you really have to grip the pipe while turning the cutter which means that even in tight areas, it's a two handed job. Also the cutter leaves a burr or doesn't cut straight if cutting off a small piece at the end, where the pipe isn't fully into the body of the cutter. I found it best cutting solvent weld in situ, as the pipe doesn't rotate in the fitting. A useful tool for tight spots."

Rothenberger Plastic Pipe Cutt
16 Dec 2009

"great tool for the job but the problem is replacement blades screwfix don't stock them and neither do plumbing or builders merchants only place up to now is off the Internet the blades come in packs of 3 and in 2 sizes 1 size fits 15 mm-35 mm and 1 size for 42 mm you need both packs (6 blades) in total to fit all 4 size cutters at £2.70 each plus p+p total amount £14-21 so it can get a bit expensive so for this reason i wouldn't recommend it."

"You would have to be Arnold Swartzeneger to cut 40mm screwfix pipe with this tool.
Don't buy it if you are buying 40mm pipe
