"These shims are excellent for modifying the depth of the hinge recesses already made in doors and jambs. AN IMPROVEMENT would be to provide 2 small holes for panel pins in the shims so that the position of the shims can be maintained whilst struggling with relatively heavy doors."
"I usually use card packers but thought I'd give these a punt. Their only unique feature, as far as I can tell, is that you can pack the hinges whilst the door is still attached. That's it. With skill, you can do that anyway with card.
Considering what they are, why do they cost nearly £7? They are thin strips of plastic, that’s it. If they were a lot cheaper (£1 to £1.50) maybe they would be beneficial to the trades man but at nearly £7 I think they are only intended for the DIY market and therefore the occasional user.
Please note, if your hinges are not 100mm these shims will not work and they cannot be easily adapted, if at all."
