"This was bought to replace a branded hood that went bang a week after it's five year warranty expired. Despite being a quarter of the price I could not see any areas in which this product was of less quality then the branded product it replaced. I chose the predecessor partly on its low Db rating but this one is as quiet and seem to clear more cooking fumes."
"Great cooker hood. It's not easy to find a 90cm cooker hood, and having this size made all the difference to our kitchen layout. It's a shame it's been marked down mainly because of one reviewer's failure to check with the company about the 'colour'. Yes, it does arrive packed in a 'sprayed on' blue plastic, as do most things these days - all our kitchen cupboards (different supplier) had the same thing. It's not at all difficult to remove - just gently pick at a corner with a fingernail and peel it off.
Best points: • Very powerful (it is rather noisy at full speed, so I've docked one star off 'perfomance' for that, but it is excellent at removing smells). • Very easy to clean - I just use a cream cleanser to remove grease, and then polish with a microfibre cloth to bring back the shine. • Best of all, there's no yucky filter to change! The filters are aluminium and dishwasher-safe, so I just give them a quick scrub with washing-up liquid under a hot tap to get rid of the worst of the grease, and then put them in the dishwasher! How fab is that!
As usual, Screwfix's delivery was first-class as well."
"I have found that before you intall any cooker hood, taking the fan away from the motor and making sure there are no bits of errant plastic from the moulds hanging around, then balance the fan as best as possible, which is very simple physics. Then a spot of oil on each motor bearing and install it ensuring that there are no wobbly bits to rattle later on. I have even placed fireglass insulation around the 'chimney'which deadens the sound further. Do it well and it shall be very good and very quiet for many years. Try not to leave the lights on when the fan isn't running though, unless you have cool led or flouro bulbs. Happy fitting."
"Bought this hood based partly on the good reviews and also on the looks. As the body is the same size as the 600mm unit, with the glass making up the rest of the width. The unit doesn't look over bearing with lots of metal. The glass hood also lets lots of light through which is a benifit as the built in light isn't great as standard using a CFL. I will be changing this to an LED lamp very soon. Noise wise it is very acceptable being quieter than some much more expensive units I have seen."
"A great looking, efficient product for a very resonable price. It is a little noisy when the fan is on full but it does the job well and looks really expensive despite the price I actually paid!!! My only little problem was with the fitting of it to the wall. It was very difficult to get it lined up straight as you can't get a screwdriver in to tighten the screws underneath. this meant it was a devil of a job to fit but once up it looks great!"
"This product looks good but is quite noisy. I bought it because it had a relatively low decibel reading, but even on the second level it is noisy. I can't work out if it's the chimney that's rattling or the motor vibrating. Very disappointing!"
"Ordered this online, and as always, delivery was swift.
Upon opening, found it did not have the lovely appearance of the screen shot, and instead had some blue colour blasted onto the metal. It may well peel off, but there was no mention of protective film in the manual, and it didn't look like it would come off without a fight.
Fortunately I can make good use of Screwfix's no quibble returns service.
Good merchant - disappointing product - but might have just been me."
