"I used this because I needed it fast and screwfix are open on Sunday of which is good. The Unibond metal repair filler is a good product and does what it states on the tin. The compound is super adhesive and sets in a few mins, I would advise being sparing with the hardner and mix well rather than going over-board, you only have a few mins with this stuff and it gets very tacky and messy if you pull it apart to reset position. It would be good if screwfix offered the steel repair putty this is good also but less messy."
"I used this product to repair a metal heating duct (rather than weld the two pieces together - difficult to do safely). It was easy to use but only mix what you can use in 5 minutes as it start to set quickly. After 30 minutes the join was rock hard. Time will tell if the join will last but so far so good."
"The tin is big and much bigger than I thought and although there is the amount stated the tin could have have been made smaller so easier to carry. The instruction for use are a bit limited, there is quite a bit of paste but only a small tube of hardener, so trying to guess how much to mix is hit and miss and I guess the small tube will be used sooner than the paste. I only wanted to use it for a very small job so trying to get the right amonts wasn't easy. I also thought it would be ready mixed but thats probably my fault. The paste and mix, mix easly and you will have to make sure your job is prepared quickly because it sets very quick. I only left the mixed bond for about 90 seconds and when I went back to it, it hadn't hardened completly but was not pliable. This will be a great product for large jobs on cars etc but for smaller jobs its a bit hit & miss with the mixing."
