"The kids keep losing their keys and to get more cut is easy but you don't know who has picked up a dropped key. So we decided to replace the lock for security. Measured the old one, looked on Screwfix website, bought one, simple. Even simpler was changing the lock. Undo one screw, take out old lock put new one in tighten one screw. Done in two minutes. Works perfectly."

Review 5 for Yale 6-Pin Euro Cylinder Thumbturn Lock 35-35 (70mm) Polished Brass
"There are two reasons why I purchased the lock. The main reason was for safety, so we could leave the house very fast in an emergency, as the original version you needed a key to open the door and you know the issue with keys, you can't find them when you need them, never mind in an emergency! The second reason, the original replacement was the cheaper version offered by Screwfix, which does not have the same key locking/opening action, plus it failed after a couple of years. The key operation in the Yale is very positive, plus it has built in safety options from break in etc. The whole feel and look of the lock is better. This type of lock can be fitted in less than a couple of minutes with just a screwdriver, by anyone! Just undo the holding screw in the edge of the door, turn the lock a few degrees to align the latch and it pulls out and then fit the new lock! The easiest DIY job other then changing a light bulb!"

Review 7 for Yale 6-Pin Euro Cylinder Thumbturn Lock 35-35 (70mm) Polished Brass
"I chose this make for my front door as I feel secure in the knowledge that Yale is very well known manufacturer. I like the idea that having the thumblock means I don't have to use my keys to lock and unlock the door from the inside which I think is a very good feature, in the event of a mishap I know that my family can escape quickly without searching for a key."
