Le gloss.

"Bought this to try because I much prefer the oil-based gloss. This isn't too runny if your careful and not too slow with the brush. Applies well and looks brilliant. As long as your patient enough for the oil-based stuff to dry and cure and don't mind the smell for a couple of days then you can't go wrong with this stuff."

Leyland White Gloss

"I was looking for a traditional white gloss.
There are some reasonable water based and quick drying paints around, but sometimes they don't stand up to the knocks of everyday life.
I know the smell of this gloss lingers a wee bit.
The quality outweighs everything else.
The paint holds well on the brush and does not run(if your careful).
It covers very well, and would buy this again.
I don't know how long it will stay white. Time will tell.

"used with the Leyland u/coat. U/coat has excellent opacity and only 1 good coat of this done the trick. Ideal for those, like me, who hate glossing. Goes on, stays on, looks great. . . . . . . and a whole lot cheaper than the ''top'' brands, get back down the ladder from whence ye came."

"Good coverage and goes on easy. Used several brands of paint and this offers about the best value for money that I have found so far. Sure you can pay a higher price and get a better product but this for me this does the job well.

Leyland NOT SO Brilliant white
19 Sep 2013
By

"If you want Brilliant White that lasts DO NOT BUY this product.
After 12 months paint has turned cream. I have 10 year old paint adjacent on a door lining that is now whiter than this paint.
I spoke to LEYLANDS technical dept. and was told "since 2010 the solvent content has been reduced and resin increased and this causes the paint to yellow rapidly, if I wanted a brilliant white that lasts I would need to use their water based gloss and undercoat"
If you have any doubts speak to LEYLAND.

Poor paint - waste of time.

"I have used other Leyland trade paints in the past and been very impressed. However this one is TERRIBLE - it has very poor opacity so you need at least 3 coats to give a properly white finish. It runs easily and quickly so you really need to watch it, which takes even more of your time. Not to mention the drying time takes an absolute age, at least 24 hours between coats.
It was used to paint clean and dry wood - shelves and skirting. On the corners which had been stuck together with no more nails (paintable) the paint did not stick at all and simply ran off. This left an ugly finish which highlighted the joints. I then keyed the joints again and repainted - the paint did not adhere. It has taken 3 coats so far and still the coverage is patchy. The way I look at is that 3 days of my life have been wasted struggling with a paint not fit for purposes. I hope others read this and think twice before choosing this option - life cannot be regained, don't waste your time.
The only positive is that this paint does give a nice mirror smooth finish with no brush strokes - but so will any other paint that takes 24hrs to dry."
