"I used this stuff on some old sawn pine joists which I'm using for a fence. The product was well absorbed and left a uniform colour. I picked dark oak but the colour, from the tin, was more like old motor oil! The dry colour is unarguably black and not the dark brown I was expecting. We are not talking shades of brown here, the timber looks like it has been blackend by a fire. Fortunatly the colour is not important as it is a side fence behind some shrubs. Since this is a fresh application I can't comment on perfomrance or reliability. Check your colour though, in the shop."
"Sika dark oak wood preserver totally wrong colour!! I bought this tin of dark oak preserver to paint my wooden shed the sticker on the tin is dark brown but my shed came out dark green when dry, I spoke to Paul eastlake at Sitka for a refund but after sending photos of shed ,he said the colour wasn't dark green.this is the second review saying its the wrong colour and there's only two reviews I pointed this out but he wasn't interested. I ASK YOU To AVOID THIS PRODUCT.they really have no after sale care what so ever, numerous professionals have viewed the colour and every person said its not dark oak it's dark green .Watchdogs involved!"
