"The particular job the cutters were used for was an external pipe which was accessed by a ladder. They allowed a 90 degree clean cut using one hand (I needed the other to hang on with). As other folk have commented it does away with the inevitable burr that the hacksaw always gives on plastic pipe and you can save time since you don’t have to clean it off. I was a bit worried about using it on older pipe (it had been there for 20 years) but I found no problems the cutters went through easily. As another reviewer has commented it does help to rotate the cutter relative to the pipe in order to get started.
Overall, I would say a good product which gives excellent results if you want to avoid the burrs and also on the occasions when you only have one hand available."
"ARRIVED WITH OTHER ITEMS THAT I ORDERED THE FIRST TIME THAT I HAVE USED THIS TYPE OF CUTTER WORKS WELL ON CONDUIT PLASTIC PIPE AND PLASTIC WATER PIPES A BREEZE MIND THE BLADE IS VERY SHARP YOU COULD DO WITH A HOLSTER TO PUT IT IN AFTER USE.THE PRICE WAS A LITTLE HIGH BUT IT DOES THE JOB VERY WELL."
"These are really strong cutters and I would have expected them to last even though I use them every day.
Unfortunately, both the circlips which hold the two pivot pins in place have dropped off and got lost after only a few weeks. This means the pins constantly keep dropping out. I have replaced one with a bolt and need to do the other.
Guess I should have returned them, but that would mean managing without or facing the same problem with a replacement pair.
I wouldn't do without.because once you get the knack, the cut is fast, straight and above all clean."
"I bought this cutter because I needed a cutter for overflow pipe for a toilet my first choice was out of stock and the next one a little pricey. So I ended up with this by default although it is ok for one handed operation the blade could do to be sharper and the ratchet slightly finer. if these issues were sorted it would be a better tool on the whole not bad for the money."
