"I have this same recorder. got mine with anouther supplier, no cams.
Recording is ok, but as some one already said, the usb link does not appear to work. I have not yet tried installing the drive in my PC, as the previous person did, which may be the only may to transfer video, I hope.

Poor Quality Package

"I have used this system for 14 months now, and feel I can give a fair review.
The package was easy to set up and install. It includes everything you need to set up a basic CCTV system, except for a connector from the DVR to you TV (you need a BNC connector on the DVR box, to whatever you attach it to. I had a Video Phono). The cables are good quality, and the cameras seem robust in all weathers. As this is outside I had to buy some watertight boxes to place the connections into.
Night-time:- Sadly, within TWO weeks of using the cameras, the Infra Red LED's began to fail. Within 6 weeks every camera had no working LED's. I decided to buy some Infra LED Lamps, which are very powerful, and have vastly improved the night vision to about 20 metres. Beforehand, the night vision wasn't great. The night vision picture is now excellent, and the camers pick up the IR very well.
Daytime:- These cameras are very poor for daytime viewing. I have adjusted the colours by using the DVR, but they just don't pick up colour very well. Grass is usually picked up as purple, or grey.....and passing red cars become yellow if you try to make the grass it's usual colour! Images are quite clear though, it's just colour that's an issue.
The DVR is very quiet, with a small but sufficient fan to keep it cool. There are four BNC connections for the cameras, and one for the output. Mine has a faulty power connector, where the slightest touch of the lead results in the DVR restarting. This could just be a one off incident rather than something all the DVR's have. The controller is simple to use, but you need to aim it at the box from directly in front of it, otherwise the metal casing of the DVR stops the signal. It's would be easy to upgrade the DVR's hard drive if need be. I was also unable to get the USB connection to work with any of my computers (as the CD software provided didn't recognise the DVR!), and had to remove the harddrive and insert it into my PC each time I wanted images/video. The DVR did record quite well though for just over 3 days on High Quality.
I have since bought a new 8 channel DVR, and once I can afford to, will replace the cameras. I would have sent it back to Screwfix, but after the effort of climbing the house and screwing four cameras and secururing 60 meters of cable to the wall, I didn't fancy it!!!"
