"I recommend this brass backnut to stop tap spin. Insert tap through basin hole (don't forget the rubber washer between the tap and basin), use the supplied plastic backnut by inverting it and threading it on the tap first so the male part fits in the sink hole, then use the brass one until the two are back to back, tighten and job done."
"These won't split like the plastic ones supplied with taps these days sometimes do. I always use these but wish that Screwfix would supply a box spanner to suit as the Rothenburger backnut spanner is too large."
"I always keep these in the van whenever I replace or install a new set of taps I use these instead of the inferior plastic back nuts that are usually supplied with taps they hold easier don't slip and are easier to tighten up"
"Well made with that extra flange width, used to replace plastic nuts regrettably supplied with most taps. 3/4in & 1/2in stock item on van. Never stuck again with other manufactures shoddy goods just swap."
"So much better than the plastic nuts supplied with new taps. These should be standard with all new taps! Highly recommended! But how do they get the measurements for these nuts? The internal measurement for these nuts is actually 3/4. Am i missing something or am i completely dumb!! Only gave it 1 star for features its only got 1 use!"
"Oh how i wish these were just supplied with the tap. The plastic versions are only any good if there is no need to tighten down, but if you have need to use a nylon centralising washers and a top hat then you will need these. The 3/4 Bsp version of these are sold in singles but try item 77916 sold as pairs."
