"My love in life is D.I.Y. The product is exactly as described in the web site . The quality is very good and totally fit for purpose, I find the choice of two finishes helpful depending on the final look I require. Also the ease of purchase is superb, item was ready and waiting for my collection as usual."

Review 8 for Standard Suffolk Gate Latch Black Powder Coated 180mm
"I bought this as a direct replacement for one that had broken (latch bar snapped in half) on a gate that is used fairly infrequently. I found the latch bar to be slightly bent on opening the package but this did not seriously affect fitting or performance and wasn't bad enough to take it back. The latch was straightforward to fit and it works well enough (it is only a latch after all). It's difficult to rate reliability as the latch was only fitted a week ago. The impression it gives is that it is not overly strong but it does the job and I reckon it's reasonable value for money (you get what you pay for) - it is also guaranteed for 12 months - but I would hope it will actually last a lot longer! I also put a "stop" on the gate post to prevent the gate swinging back against the latch bar, which should avoid any occurrence of the original problem. For a gate that gets a lot of use I would be more inclined to opt for a galvanised latch as a stronger (if slightly more expensive) alternative."

Review 9 for Standard Suffolk Gate Latch Black Powder Coated 180mm
"This latch is made of very soft steel and the catch would soon bend. The riveted part of the latch had not been spread so just popped out. All the moving parts are a very sloppy/slack fit. I returned the item to Screwfix who willingly refunded my money. They opened another latch to compare. The riveting was ok but the latch bar was banana shaped, a further example of the poor steel. I do not recommend buying this item in its present form."
