"Don't bother going for another one, this is well built, easy to handle and feels good in the hand. I have used others in the past and have always been dissapointed."

"honestly best knife i have ever used, a bit tough to use the retract feature when new but it soon wears down, excellent knife for sturdy work, easy to cut straight without a guide and doesn't have much fatigue with extensive use"

"top banana knife, don't buy cheap ones that last 5 mins cos they look cool (!) when you can spend the extra and invest in something a real trade will maintain :) bit of oil on the runners now and again and she slides lovely.

"Blades are all pretty standard, but this knife is very comfortable.
Used it so far to take up some lino and cut plasterboard.
Nice weight, feels solid. Pleased with purchase."

A professional's knife
10 May 2013

"If you only ever buy one utility knife, then this is it. Solid, well made, should last years. The retractable blade version works well, but does need a really good tighten to keep the blade from slipping. Good spare blade storage with room for at least 10 standard blades. But, beware, this knife doesn't take prisoners. With the weight and a new blade, this will take your pinkies off and you wouldn't feel it - this is a Dirty Harry knife, not a Clousaeu.. I got so upset when I lost my first one that I went straight out to get another."

"Purchased this on the basis of good reviews
Blistered my thumb with the mechanism which jammed after replacing once blade
Could be a faulty individual product given the other reviews
+ Sharp blades and good design
- Mechanism seemed to jam very quickly

Confused Product
30 Aug 2014
By
, Herts
"In short, tried to use it once and am sending it back.
This knife doesn't seem to know whether it's a fixed blade or retractable. The large brass dial needs to be unscrewed to open the body - I have no problem with that.
Unfortunately, when the dial is screwed down to close the body and the blade is extended, the blade is then clamped in position. If the body is screwed together when the blade is retracted, the blade can't be extended.
Having to release the body every time you want to extend or retract the blade completely defeats the purpose of an extending blade knife - it's no longer quick and convenient.
Waste of money."

"bought this the other day because I had lot of plasterboard to install, well after 500 cuts the retract button is still way too stiff to operate one handed and ive drilled the stupid magnet out of it whatever that's for"
