"for thin work and precise work it is very good although if you have a lot to do the batteries don't last to long. I found it OK as I have the Makita 10.8v battery drill kit as well so I had four batteries and two charger on the go at the same time. the thin blade leaves a neat cut but the height adjuster is a bit flimsy. priced quite high but I will get the use out of it."
A sad day for me. All my power tools are Makita so I bought this based on my experiences with them. Oh dear! You get 2 batteries and a charger too but I managed to cut about 1 meter of decking (25mm thick) on one battery and about the same on the other battery. Fortunately I have another battery charge and 3 other batteries and I still couldn’t do the job! My saw may have been faulty as it seem to spin quiet slowly even with a fully charged battery. It went back! Even the guys in Screwfix agreed the blade just didn’t spin as fast as they thought it should. They offered me another one but I declined and went and bought a mains one. A sad day. This tool needs to be 18v at least. A real shame because I wanted a cordless one for the van."
