"Good looking and compact garden light. The 0.5 meter cable is not much use in a garden but can be replaced by opening the back of the lamp to reveal 2 terminal blocks. There are two cable holes so it should be possible to loop on to more lamps.
Remember though if using tungsten lamps that each 20W lamp will pull nearly 2 amps so putting a few on one long cable will soon drop the voltage and hence the brightness.
Consider using coloured LED MR16 lamps in these fittings. A 6W lamp is brighter but draws 0.5amps, and even brighter 9W lamps are also available. G"
"I wanted a low voltage lamp to use outside on a patio with a good IP rating. This fits the bill with good cable glands and seals. Instead of a halogen MR16 lamp, I fitted a Sylvania (Screwfix stock) 7W LED and a conventional halogen transformer as the Sylvania is retro-fitable.
The only slightly iffy bit is the crude glass front that looks as though it has been cut with a brick bolster and no evidence that it is tempered glass, but that won't matter with the LED. Only time will tell if it keeps the moisture out."
