"Thought long & hard before spending this amount of cash on a drill but, after many months of asking around and comparing plumped for the DeWalt combi drill and impact driver kit. Only had it for a week but has done what I wanted it to do so far. Maybe the box is a bit fiddly and over engineered and the way the 2 units are packed in the box means you can't leave a bit in either chuck as there is no room, but it's a fair bit of kit which I trust should give me many hours of cordless fun and hold battery charge for longer than the 2 minutes I got with my old Makita."
"Bought this as a present for a family member who had just qualified as a carpenter. He was after something robust and likes the Dewalt brand. Shortly after getting the set he got a job on a site erecting new builds and has worked the drill hard. He has had it for over a year now and its still going strong. The set does everything he wants it to and no task is too great. Even after falling off a low roof it continued to go with no problems.
Pros • Has a 3 year Dewalt warranty (has to be registered) • Comes in a heavy duty carry case which has a foam inlay to hold the drill and impact driver in place. • The case has a compartment in the lid for storing bits and is stackable with clips to attach other tool cases securely. • There is a bracket for locking shut the case to prevent theft of the contents. • Having the drill and driver means no swapping round for drilling or screwing and the impact driver puts screws in like a hot knife in butter. • Both units come with their own 18v 4ah battery which seem to go on and on and on so no need for mid day charging.
Cons • Foam inlay can come out of the box and prove difficult to get back in but otherwise unable to find any cons with the product itself
Overall very pleased with the purchase. Good build quality and very reliable. Most definitely reccoment both the product and the brand"
"What can I say, only had for two weeks now and have done everything I have asked of them with no problem what so ever, no drill bits spinning in the chuck or jamming in the wall. The torque on the Drill is FAB and having the hammer action has now retired my SDS drill to the shed where it will remain until I have some seriously heavy duty work to do. This drill set and case although a bit pricey like most Dewalt tools is off great build quality and you get what you pay for now days, My only gripe is for the price I would have thought you would get a stop depth gauge for the handle like on the Makita and Milwaukee drill sets. Would highly recommend though,"
