"After buying and fitting the tap insulation I had a plumber in to do some work. The plumber had not seen the insulator before and was very impressed by its design and ease of fitment. He said that he had numerous customers asking about tap insulation and intended to supply and fit them. Could sell like hot cakes if Screwfit publicise it."
"A very novel product with potential but would only work if the tap emerged from a flat surface eg. a wall If the feed pipe runs on the outside of the wall, the design is such that there would not be a seal as the rim of the device would be prevented from sealing by the pipe. A notch could be cut but I don't know whether that would destroy the weatherproofing of the device."
"Unfortunately this product is simply too small for the average outside tap. The idea is great, but needs to be about double the size. I will be returning to old rags this year until something else comes on the market"
"I`d purchased and fitted a new bib-tap with non-return valve for approved garden tap usage so this Stormguard insulation cover seemed an obvious next step. Trouble was it didn`t fit my tap for two reasons - (1) mine was screwed into a wall plate outlet and cover was not deep enough front to rear, and (2) the valve aspect made the tap too long for the cover, top to bottom... . There was no suggestion of any size limit in the catalogue description nor on the product box. Unfortunately I bought it just before a month away and hadn`t time to seek a refund so it remains in it`s box - unsuitable for purpose. (Nonsensical that one has to rate each category when - as in this case - I couldn`t fit it)"
