"Bought this to do some diy brickwork repair but I don't normally feel safe above 2-3metres. Worked up at 4m with this and felt extra safe and secure. Grips really well - no wobbles, I won't be afraid to do those awkward jobs like cleaning the gutters and painting high up. Minimizes risk of a fall and gives you room to work due to the clearance off the wall. Overall very satisfied with this and would recommend buying this excellent product."
"Bought this to do some guttering repairs as I could not get far enough away to overlook the gutter. Easy to assemble although I had a problem with one nut and bolt when the thread went. Had to cut this off and replace with a similar bolt in my box but this was only a small obstacle which was overcome easily and the stays worked brilliantly on my aluminium extension ladder Secure and solid. Good value and delivery was brilliant early next day and free because I bought other items which took my order over £50."
"Once assembled which is easily completed with a couple of 10mm spanners, the spring loaded hook held the stand-off in a strong position. Held ladder well away ( as advertised ) from the overhang and gutter. Would recommend for any aluminium ladder."
"Bought this stand-of on my last day of painting a untrustworthy, rotten in places fascia board when i got sick of doing acrobatics trying to reach up on a 42+year old wobbly creaking bent wooden ladder, i cant recommend this stand-off highly enough,i even felt more confident and more secure on the ladder on the fascia board because of the weigh spread of the arms........ (just bought a set of aluminum ladders for myself so i don't have to borrow the death defying wooden bendy creaking ladders phew!)."
"Just 4 bolts to assemble and you are up and running. Well made sturdy product, just what is needed to improve ladder safety. Peering over the top rung into a gutter is no longer and issue. Provides just the right amount of standoff. Rated features average as it has no features, just does what is it supposed to do."
"I purchased this having seen one of my neighbour's using it, I noticed that he had more control over the ladder than I had just putting it up against the wall. I saw that with the bracket on that the ladder was not at such a great angle as I had mine, and also assisted with not sliding down the wall. Therefore for safety reasons and common sense it only seemed like a good idea to get one."
"I am a complete DIY novice and was somewhat thrown because the illustration for this product on the Screwfix website did not quite match the product I received. By this I mean that on the website illustration, the bars on the triangular section fit horizontally on to the metal plate which has the hook attachment on it whereas on mine they screw on vertically. I think, or rather, hope I have put it together correctly."
"Bought this for DIY. Did not fit my ladder but rang Lyte direct who said it was designed to work with ladders with 250 or 280mm rung centres. Explained my problem as my ladder was brought back from Canada and had 300mm centres. Excellent help from Lyte resulted in a functional safe fitting. At one point thought of returning item but realised that other retailers were offering same standoff as much higher prices."
"Wish I had bought this years ago . Working at height , on guttering , no longer qualifies as an extreme sport . Leaning back to obtain a better view whilst performing an act requiring both hands was always high risk . No longer . Money well spent ."
