"It looks good and the light it strong enough. The only question is how long it is going to last without a rust."

PIR Light
26 Aug 2011
By DickyB

"This fitting as it has a PIR is not dimmable!
There is a similar fitting that does not have a PIR that you can use with a dimmer with though.
Nice feature is that you can set how long the light comes on for using an adjustment screw and also how sensitive it is to movement.
If installed to a regular light switch, you can make the light stay on permanently by turning the light switch on-off-on quickly, very useful if you're having a bbq or drinks outside and don't want the light to constantly be turning on and off.
Like most PIR fittings, you cannot use compact flourescent light bulbs in these fittings, so you have to go for regular old fashioned bulbs.
Can't comment on reliability yet, as only just installed it, hence the 3 score.

Antirust???
27 Apr 2014

"I am gutted, we bought this to front our new build. It looks lovely but a year and half later are having to replace it as it is totally rusty and bits have now fallen off. It had a supposed anti rust coating!!!... Surely it should have lasted longer than this?!"

Pain in the rear

"Bought 10 of these PIRs, mainly because of the last review, I wanted to be able to override them to have them permanently on if needed. Can i get them to stay on. Ive tried switching them on-off-on within a second, some stay on, some dont. Its pot luck. Others say on in the day too when they are suppost to turn themselves off. I think they will be going back. Look good though, its shame."
