Expensive but did the job

"I used this to drill about 50 holes in very hard and delicate bone china plates. No other bit even scratched the surface but this one did the whole lot very quickly. Even though I used plenty of water the bit did start to fade by the end of the run."

Poor value

"Not being used to using this type of bit, I was not aware of what to expect. I had about 10 holes to drill in porcelains floor tiles, and after 8 the bit had completely disintegrated. Not sure if this is supposed to be par for the course, but it seems an expensive way of drilling holes to me. Must be a better solution."

Frustrating

"Had 12-15 holes to drill in very hard porcelain tiles. First bit did 6 holes but soon lost its edge. Reluctantly bought a second bit, which snapped after only half a hole! Managed to use a bench grinder to put the edge back on the first bit and after much patience finished the job. In short, OK for a couple of holes or softer tiles but not great value for porcelain."

Broke after 4 holes
15 Apr 2010

"Used to drill porcelain wall tiles.
Used almost continuous water from spray gun, kept the speed down and the bit remained wet and cool at all times.
End broke off on the 4th hole"
