"I wanted a paint roller that would stand up to boat antifouling (many won't) and this one claimed suitability for all paint types. Most similar products either specify emulsion paint or don't say. Price was another factor as you have to discard the euipment after one such use, plus I had previously been very satisfied with the No-Nonsense Pad Set on a different job.
The roller stood up to the task, not shedding pile at all, but there was a lot of spatter and I used about 25% more paint than usual. At £80 per can that's poor economy.
I found a different kit for the second coat.
The tray is flimsy and needs a flat surface to stand on - it's no good for hand-held use.
But as a cheap, reliable roller I would consider it again for lesser jobs. I still have one set left over anyway."
"I purchased this to help finish a job off as I had extra guys on site and was happy for this to be used once and thrown away, however it wasn't even suitable for that!
The pile on the roller sleeve is poor and doesn't hold much paint and then splatters it off in every direction as soon you start rolling and the frame bent within 5 minutes. All in all this was a complete waste of time and money.
It might be cheap but it certainly isn't value for money."
