good detector

"I brought several of these as they are interconnected and run on the mains (with battery back up). Very easy to install, using the optional patress makes life much easier.
Very good for the price, can't say about reliability as not had them long.

Good Value & Easy to fit
13 Mar 2009

"Easy to fit, Mains with battery back-up. Easy to link to others. Much easier to fit with 'Dicon Surface Mounting Kit' 30152
The unit has a large fitting plug on the top. The 9v battery is a tight fit and does need the red ribbon fitted to pull it out. If fitting more than one, use 3 wire plus earth cable, as one wire is required for the link wire.

Smoke won't get in your eyes!

"If you want to stop false alarms near kitchens caused by burning food, this is the unit to use. Good price for mains powered, battery backup & linkable unit - even comes with battery! Clear installation instructions. Make sure you fit the battery with the tape positioned to assist with its subsequent removal - the battery compartment is a tight fit!
Fitting the unit flush to ceiling requires an opening large enough not only for cable but also the connector plug. Otherwise use of a patress box will give more space to play with.

"Bought this 3 years ago as this type was supposed to give no nuisance alarms. But it was the only one which did. When it alarmed daily I changed the battery to no effect.
Stick with the ionisation and heat alarms is my advice
