"I have been using it to dig out a 2m.sq clump of Bamboo with very-densely matted intertwined roots. The sharp edge does enable it to slice through the roots below the top layer. Other tools such as spades just bounced off the mass of roots. I like the fibreglass handle with its rubber grip, easy to grasp. It appears to be well-balanced for the job. I have found it extremely effective. It's still hard work, however!! However, so far I can certainly recommend it."
"I've had to remove several tree/jasmine/honeysuckle stumps and roots from my garden.Digging them out was the start but the mattock made very short work of chopping through the thick roots plus the pick end made a very effective lever to ease them out of the ground. My brother who is a professional gardener had told me this was a good product and I'm pleased to say he was absolutely right ! Save yourself a lot of work and energy folks by buying this great tool.I also found it just as useful for jemmying fence panels out when a claw hammer didn't have the strength to do so.The head also did a lovely job of bedding in bricks used as cheap gravel boards."
"I have borrowed a friends Mattock previously for removing some tree stumps. Was impressed so I bought one. The wide blade is great for cutting through the roots in the ground and is easy to swing. Also useful for digging a trench to lay SWA cable. The blade is wide enough to create a good trench removing half the spoil that would be required if using a spade. Love it!"
"I bought this to clear the ground for a new fence to be put up. It light and strong and has good edges to the chisels. These made light work of the roots encountered along the way, soon clearing the ground. Very good tool."
"Good balance and immediately useful but the head isn't mechanically secured to the shaft. This is not a problem when having a good swing at the target but when a half swing is called for the head can occasionally slide down the shaft. Will probably drill and put a retaining screw in at some stage. Despite this small flaw, well worth the money."

"The head seems ok, but the fibreglass handle feels cheap and flimsy. Since there's nothing to hold the head in place, I'm a bit worried that I might lift it over my head one day, to have the metal part slip down the shaft and onto my knuckles."
