"Easy to fit, and maintain and quiet to operate. fairly reliable . Would give full marks for reliability BUT on return from holiday previous valve of same spec had developed a fault in the anti syphon valve on the top of the main valve . This resulted in water spraying from the top of the fitting and over the edge of the tank even though it had a loose cover.. This caused damage to ceiling below. However I replaced the valve with a new one as I think it is the best available on the market. ps I fitted a simple plastic cover over the top of the new valve to ensure any sprayed water is retained within the tank in the unlikely event of a repeat fault.!"
"I repositioned and replaced my cold water storage tank and was using the standard float valve supplied with the kit. This was extremely noisy and could be heard throughout the house. After fitting the new valve it is extremely quiet and very fast filling. I am extremely satisfied but cannot vouch yet for its long term quality and reliability but admit it shows promise."
"Simple installation with clear instructions. Very quiet operation. Easy accurate adjustment of water level. Need to be careful not to over tighten brass union nut on plastic thread. Better value than the cheaper Torbek valves that are less reliable."
"I bought this to replace an identical one in my plastic cold-water tank which had given 15 years of totally trouble free service before failure. I would particularly recommend it for this application because, unlike valves with a lever arm, the sliding float is unaffected by the flexibility of the sidewall of the tank and so it can close off the flow cleanly without oscillation or water-hammer. I was delighted to be able to buy the valve from Screwfix for less than half the price being charged by a well known competitor."

Review 15 for Fluidmaster Side Entry Fill Valve ½"
"An excellent unit that stopped the dripping of the old ballcock in my toilet. Took 5 mins to fit, even with my poor DIY skills. I think I prefer the pro version due to it's brass thread as it removes the worry of stripping the threads but, then again, I fitted this one without a problem so guess I saved a couple of quid."

"I own a number of flats. If I don't use reliable durable quality products then I wind up with more maintenance & repair jobs than would otherwise be the case. Cheap is dear in the long run. Conventional ball cock valve washers usually fail after 2 or 3 years in the cisterns & also immersion header tanks that are awkward to reach. When I fit a fluidmaster in place of the old valves, I know they'll go on for many years without the need to replace the washers or jets. If they ever need replacing then it's very simple to unclip the holder & replace the sealing washer. Highly recommended if you want to minimise hassle. Time is money. So well worth the extra cost."
