"Must be new supplier of crimps as diameter is now too large on both red and blue butt crimps unable to secure cables with rachet . Hours wasted on CU change due to this!"

Not a decent product.

"I can only reinforce what other people on here have said. Initially I thought maybe my crimp tool was past its best. However after buying from another supplier, I can now put aside that idea.
Like other people have said, they have a high failure rate and cause great frustration and wasted time.
Please Screwfix get another supplier for both these and the Blue sized ones."

Very poor quality

"I have purchased these from screwfix before, but these ones are of a much inferior quality. Compared to my old Screwfix stock, they only have 1 metal compression ring ( whereas before they were dual metal compression rings/sleeves). This seems to have tripled their failure rate. These are of very poor quality and in my opinion dangerous. I think these are from a different supplier or manufacturer because not only are they different mechanically, but these are glossy red whereas my old Screwfix stock are all matt red. I have thrown these away and sourced else where."

Do not crimp up correctly
13 Apr 2012
By
, Manchester
"I have been using this type of crimp for years and cannot remember having any fail to crimp up even on very fine cable such as telephone or CAT5. This batch I am having a failure rate of about 50% even though I am using the correct ratchet crimping tool. These crimps only have one thin layer of metal inside, I have looked at others in my box of crimps and they appear to have two separate layers of metal under the insulation. These crimps are useless, I ended up throwing them away and getting another pack from an electrical wholesaler. I agree with the previous reviewer, Screwfix must have changed supplier as previous crimps I have purchased from Screwfix have been fine."
