"I have used Pegler a lot in the past, but this really disappoints. Main sale point for me was availability of spares, and the reinforced wheelhead which should give a longer life. But, exchanged by Screwfix twice within 6 months as faulty! 1st valve - missing wheelhead reinforcement plate - replaced by Screwfix. 2nd valve - leaking around spindle within a month of application, the spindle appears to be shaped with a waist, so gland cannot be set to correct tightness - replaced by Screwfix. 3rd valve - missing reinforcement plate, but Screwfix let me take it from the valve I was returning. Two letters were sent to Pegler, no reply was received in over a month. Also worth a comment that the finish of the body and nuts tends to be rather rough, and the square nut type rad insert is harder to screw in without damage than the conventional internal hex version. I really do not see the price justified by the product."
"Where they have a suitable product I would normally buy Pegler. I value reliability, This is why I have bought quite a few of their turn top rad valves, despite their high cost and ugliness.
This is the second one which is leaky. You can tell its going to be a dud when the spindle turns with tight and loose resistance. Took it apart , the gland was shot. Unfortunately I found this out after the event."
