great earth rods

" I had put two of these in the ground and decided to add a third to make a 12ft earth rod. You need a joiner and a driving nut even for one rod, and after the third rod these were showing signs of having been hit hard and often with a sledgehammer. But they are cheap enough and this is a good system if you want a low-resistance earth. Shame the rods were out of stock for a while. "

" Purchased four of these for a new TT earth system, having found we had a very poor TN-S supplier earth, which the supplier refused to rectify. Used two rods connected together 8ft apart. Reasonably easy to hammer into the ground on wet clay based soil. "

" Connection end doesn't peen over when struck with a lump hammer, unlike some other rods.
Sturdy rod with plenty of surface area to help lower the loop reading in difficult soil areas.
Apparently this can be extended however I haven't had a need to do that as of yet but can see that may be useful where under 200 Ohms cannot be met with one rod.
NOTE A 5/8" cable to rod to cable clamp will be required if you don't have a tube crimper, which at time of writing, only the 3/8" version cable to rod clamp is available from Screwfix.
Termination fits well inside a 20mm 1-way conduit box provided a small spanner is used. "
