"Well made and appears to be hard wearing. Good stiff spring on the plate and looks the part."

Not that impressed

"The pros - solidly made and looks good.
But I don't think in overall terms this product has been that well designed, leading to the cons:
1. No template supplied with it, which is frustrating because it requires a slightly complex cutout (a rectangle, but with additional cutouts for the hinges).
2. The fixing holes are too close to the letter slot, which means that the wood of the door almost inevitably breaks between the letter slot and the holes. It would be better if two reinforcing metal plates were provided to spread the load of the fixing bolts across the part of the door which is weakened by the large holes required for the collars which take the fixing bolts.
3. Fixing screws are not a metric thread, which means you have to use the supplied threaded bars and nuts and cannot substitute shorter bolts if you wanted to."

"I purchased this product and it is really nice and sleek.
However, Screwfix didn't offer the other side of this opening to affix to the other side of the door.

Looks OK if it fits for you

"Comes packed in a box so not possible to see fitting mechanism - did not do my job as fixing bolt spacing too far below declared plate width and were in current letter slot. Matching handle is front fixed, this is through bolt fixed!"
