Absolutely fantastic...

"Quite surprised by the negative review that stated 25 minutes for a back box - it takes me less than 3 minutes to do the job (using the Titan 5KG SDS drill). The dust collector is good but not great - best to have it pinned against a side wall or it spins (don't hold the drill one handed - it's too big a brute for that!), and a vacuum hose held nearby helps keep the dust down hugely. Having said that, I've now sunk four or five sockets with this and, in my mind, it's already paid for itself - it's saved me hours of drilling and chiselling.
It's absolutely superb and I can't believe every electrician doesn't have one - 6 stars!
Longevity may prove an issue - I've not used it enough to have any problems yet and the hole 'squarer' is still sharp (I've used it on brick without issue) - I'm sure you'd do a complete house with it with ease and, when you think of the time it would save, I think I'd be crazy to go back to a drill and chisel! :-D"

"An amazing tool, a must for any electrician.
Using the single box set, today I cut 6 double box holes in about 10 minutes.
With the armeg channeling chisel you have all you need to produce quality work quickly.

"I bought this product a few years ago when it came out to fit some back boxes in a Victorian house renovation. The bricks to be attacked were hard as rock and the circular cutter did struggle and took quite a while. I'm just doing another house up at moment and having to fix some more back boxes but have changed my plan of attack.
This time i made a jig out of some 20mm ply with the outline of a steel back box drawn on it......i drilled about 40 holes in this ply all round the edge and in the centre of the outline. Now just screw jig to the wall in the right position, check for level with a small spirit level, then just drill all the holes with a 6mm sds bit. Then uswe the circular box cutter to remove the waste and to level off the hole in the wall. Clear the corners out with a hammer and chisel if neccesary. And a beautiful square hole is the result. All in all the cutter does save a bit of work and i can sink a double back box in a wall in approx 15 mins. To be honest the square cutter is waste of time in anything other than breeze block. ttfn

not foolproof

"Whilst strong arms will guide the cutter through brick, the guide generally becomes loose in the pilot hole leading to poor accuracy. The teeth have fallen out of my cutter.. no response from Armeg when I e-mailed them. This tool does save some time but won't last in full time use. The flat chisel is the best bit!"

Bit disappointing

"I bought this as I needed to sink a lot of boxes as part of a full rewire at my daughters renovation. Most of the boxes were going into brick so thought it would save me time, unfortunately it didn't. It might be OK for thermalite blocks but it is very slow on brick taking in average 25 minutes to sink a double socket hole. In half the cases it stopped sinking the hole and started pushing the brick back out of the mortar. The dust collector is not very efficient. Reverted back to the drill and chisel, less mess, less noise and probably quicker! Nice idea but a bit disappointing in reality. Glad I didn't fork out for the double box kit."
