"Just done this; never done it before. Did fit my window, but was tricky for me. Eventually tried some 3 in 1 and that helped a lot. Once I'd realised that, it was much easier, although still expect to spend a little time on this job.
Had to give 3 stars for performance and reliability because I don't know yet!"
"I've managed to fit new seal to a whole set of patio doors in about 30 mins, replacing seal that had perished. It is easy to fit and the doors are nicely airtight again. Only time will tell if it will prove reliable but at this price and with this ease of fit I won't fret about replacing it again."
"This is an excellent uPVC window replacement seal. Surprisingly easy to fit and easy to trim to the length required. I removed the old seals first and used them as a guide for the length needed. The old seal had a little piece removed from the back where the seal needed to go round the corner of the frame but I found this wasn't necessary as the new seal lies quite flat. If you did want to notch the back of the seal all you would need is a Stanley knife. The difference it made to the window is noticeable as the draught that was there before has now gone."
"I purchased this for use just as shown in one of the product photographs (where it shows someone fitting it to the opening leaf of a glazing unit); unfortunately, it is only designed for a VERY slender gap (probably not more than 1mm - 2mm), so do not be fooled by thinking that it will work for up to 6mm. - Go for something like the self-adhesive Stormguard Extra Thick Weather Strip instead, which is produced from a squashy memory foam and which WILL seal the gaps!"
"Our 30 year old uPvc kitchen door is still going strong but I've noticed a draught when the wind blows. Tried adjusting the door catches but they were fully adjusted. Spotted this seal in a mail shot and gave it a go. Had to take the door off to get at the bottom of the door (a full height double glazed door, really heavy!). The four hinges had slightly crimped the slot where the seal fitted so I teased it open with a large flat bladed screwdriver. As per instructions on the tub, I used a little washing up liquid to help the seal into the slot. All told, I had the door rehung in just over one hour. Can't feel a thing now when the wind blows!"
"Before deciding to shelve out a fortune on new windows, try this great product. If you have tenement sized windows you will get one large window and one small bathroom sized window from each tub! Ultimately you'll still save a fortune! Easy to fit and already noticed a MASSIVE improvement in noise and draughts! Thoroughly recommended product."
"So easy to install, totally eliminates any draughts. So impressed with it's effectiveness on doors that I intend to replace all the window seals. A really cost effective product to restore the effectiveness of double glazing that still has years of life."
"2 doors both over 19 years old, plastic secure doors very draughty no longer! Strip old seals, clean surround and fit new seals. Job done! (Pack of 20m does three seals on doors so ordered another pack to complete job, spare to be used on another door!) Hadn't realised it could be so simple."
"Great product and great price! Used 2 tubs to completely reseal 3 uvpc windows where the rubber seal had perished through age. Simply take out the old, put in the new in one strip, remembering to put a small 45 degree cut at the internal corners so it will seat properly. Had an instant effect on the effectiveness of my double glazed windows, so much so I'm buying some more for the rest of the house!"
