"I used this to cut a hole for an extractor fan, it easily cut through Cellotex insulation and 20mm wooden sarkin and did a good job. Examining the cutting teeth afterwards showed quite a lot of wear which surprised me. It was perfect for the job but forget long term reliability, as others have found it is useless on mild steel."
"Bought this even though thought a bit cheap. Needed to cut two holes through alluminum cladded wall.Wall was around 2" thick with a 2 sheets of 1.5mm alliminum sandwhich between foam insulation.First cut was fine but only managed to partially cut through second hole as cutter blunted . Ihad to finish job off with jigsaw.
A bit dissapointed i thought it would manage a bit more than trhis.."
"Bought this to drill 4x 6 inch holes for extract fans through very thin metal walls less the 0.5cm thick only managed one hole before going blunt and put a stop to the job.......useless!! Only buy this item if you intend to use on plasterboard or a straw house."
"I puschased this hole saw for cutting a hole in 2mm mild steel register plate. It utterly failed to do this It scratched the surface, but after half an hour it was making no impression.and the teeth were worn out. I used a coolant to to aid cutting but this made no diffrence. I had to resort to a jig saw which floated through the 2 mm plate effortlessly. This was dissapointing as I searched the Screwfix website for a metal cutting holesaw and it advertised it as being suitable."
