"Bought as a replacement for the Ebauer belt sander which was replaced twice, both times with the drive belt coming through the side of the unit. The Sparky seems a liltle heavier but has given good service even after several hours of near constant use. Has the usual speed control and lockable on function. Belt changes are simple. So far seems good value but given reliability as average, after a few more months use I may have a better idea as to reliability"
"Have had two other 3" belt sanders fail on me after a short time I decided to go "pro".
The Sparky didn't seem much different out of the box or in use to either the Titan and Erbauer save the dust bag is about half the size. This is good for maneuverability and getting in close to edges but of course will need emptying twice as often.
The reliability is no different to the cheaper sanders, this one also failed after an hour or so's use with 40 grit on pine floorboards and not exerting undue pressure.
Anyhow, back to Screwfix to bite the bullet and get the Makita 4"."
