"I have both a 14volt drill and an impact driver... More than good enough good enough for every day use and light so u can use above your head for long periods of time... The impact driver will drive the largest of screws with no issues. We defiantly buy these again if they ever stop..... No need for the heavier 18 volt drills"
"I bought a twin pack of these drills at the time of the financial crash (whenever that was) along with a Bosch 18V battery drill. The Bosch died years ago but the Makita twin pack of these drills are still going strong on the existing batteries.
Just thought you may like to know this if you are considering buying these drills, they may be only 14V but they are fine for drilling and fixing Woodtech roof screws and up to 12mm bolts when building things like pole barns and will not disappoint."
"Grabbed this, or rather three together in a clearance sale, now Ive an impactor drill for use on motorbike, never need to worry about dead battery's as got three of them, this is my first makita set and i would recommend these to people considering having a com bi of drills."
"This kit combines amazing value with high quality. It's 14.4 volts but I'm just a DIYer so that's fine for just about everything I need to do. Actually 14.4 v is great for an impact driver and just fine for what I need to do with the other 2 drill/drivers. These replaced a twin set which I think cost me more than this triple set cost me. This was a good set and it's only the batteries that have gone. This new set was cheaper than replacing the batteries!!
I have just fitted out some wardrobes in my daughter's house with these and they did a great job. The batteries (3) are just 1.3 Ah but they're 30 minute charge and with 3 of them I was never short of power over around 9 hours solid use charging as I worked.
"I bought this kit when i was an apprentice 7 years ago, and have used it pretty much everyday. The batteries cells have died so instead of replacing those have re bought the whole kit! An amazing set and for as long as i need cordless drills i will buy this set or equivalent. never used for anything to heavy duty."
"Eventually had to admit defeat and replace my very well used Makita 12v this set seemed good value. Not found anything to not like they are lighter than my old 12v at least as powerful and probably more so. Cannot see any reason not to buy - unless of course you want something as powerful as my Bosch 24v but then you pay the penalty of both weight and price"
"without doubt the best tradesman's cordless kit anywhere ( and i have spent hours checking out different sites and deals) ...it will do any task you ask of it and more...just look at what you get for the money..absolutely brilliant purchase !"
"bought these a while back now and very impressed with the kit, drills and batteries still going strong, one of the chucks seized up a bit but drop of oil and fine again, these are well worth the money and very reliable"
"After many years of throwing away broken power tools I finally bought a Makita 18v cordless and it is still going strong after many years of hard use. I bought this kit as I needed a lighter drill for working on my guttering. The impact driver has proved invaluable whilst working on vehicles and having a screwdriver and drill bit in the other two drills saved loads of time when I dry lined a wall. Do not be put off by it being 14.4v, there is plenty of power in these drills. All my power tools are now Makita as I know they just keep going."
"this is a grate set, iv spent ages driling holes in thing just for fun, but ther even better when you do some real work with them, easy to hold an having 3 drills is always good no need 2 change bits every 5 seconds, cant realy say about the relibility as i havent had them that long but the performance is grate so far."
"Great value mainly due to the older Nicad battery packs - I've never had a problem with these in the past and there are 3 in this pack so no excuse to not have one on charge. Also higher voltage than most of the later models seem to be. So a bargain if you can pick this combo kit up at the reduced price."
"Over the years we all fall for the cheap options of drill or drill sets, I have two 24v drills only just hanging on in there. But i have now bitten the bullet & spent £206 for this set of three drills. They arrive in a carrying case which is built to last, good start. The drills im very impressed very easy to hold much lighter than my 24v drills lot more toque, you cant beat having two drills while laying decking and these drills did the job with no fuss, easy action with thumb & finger reverse & forward. Full charge batterys last well through the day. Highly recomended."
"having the 3 drills is handy for different bits and if used regularly these are great drills even though they are not Lithium ion batteries, great power for 14.4, light compact and the impact driver is great. havent had them for long but reliable."
