Customer Reviews for Leica DISTO D2 Laser Distance Meter
"I recently had to purchase this item as the standard cheaper sonic versions wouldn't give me the results I required. Now I am able to obtain accurate readings with no error messages or potentially inaccurate measurements as the laser pointer enables me to ensure that I am measuring the the correct point!
I would certainly recommend this product to anyone who requires quick, simple, accurate measuring, it certainly saves me so much time!"
"Bought this to measure up a huge old school hall. Does every thing you need, I don't need to faf with my tape measure and the pythagoras feature save alot of faffing too.
Nice copmpact design, fits easily into pocket and comes with a handy little carry pouch. Case feels a little flimsy and the little fold out stand feels like it wouldn't stand up to much, but it is their cheapest model. Well worth the money if you are making lots of measurements and there is just you on your own with no-one to hold the other end of a tape."
"Just purchased one of these to upgrade my old cumbersome laser measure. It slots straight into your top pocket and is really simple to operate. My only criticism is the price, but once you have one you'll not be able to live without it!"
"I needed a laser measure to check the height of chimneys without the need to climb up. The leica disto d2 is fantastic. I was worried that it would not work outside but it does, and very well too!. Great features on it. well worth the money"
"I am converting a garage into a flower arranging room, men's changing room and ladies changing room/meeting room. Lots of joists, stud walls and noggins. Got fed up with having to cope with bending tape measure and having to estimate the last millimeters/sixteenths etc. while balancing on ladders and having to use both hands. Can fully recommend this as a time, effort and frustration saver. Especially working alone with no-one to hold other end of tape. A bit overpriced though. I think you are paying a fair bit for the name. Also the fractions of an inch figures are too small to easily read without having to turn the display light on and even then you have to peer closely. I' m 65 and wear varifocals. One more niggle - the red button needs a little bit too much pressure to be able to operate it one-handedly while holding the device against a wall or joist etc.. However, I would'nt like to be without it now!"
"Robust and small in size the Disto is ideal for professional use. It confers accuracy and is easy to use, the Pythagorus feature is useful for height measurement when it is not easy to get underneath the point to be measured, such as a point on a vertical, flat surface.
Rechargeable batteries can be used without compromising accuracy which makes the instrument economical to use. There are no glaring drawbacks, at least I have found none and take around 40 measurements per day. Recommended."
