"I thought they made TV's! but it was a choice between this and the cheaper Ryobi! the ryobi has a split shaft the hitachi doesn't! but I am hoping it will have better reliability! It took some putting together as the instructions were poor!"

"Bought this a year or so ago and almost immediately the shield and cord cutter broke. This means the cord does not get maintained at the right length. I had it replaced under warranty but a few months later the same thing happened. I have not been able to fine a replacement part and as it is used for none residential use, it is not under warranty any longer. The motor and the rest of the unit is fine, but this part is just not strong enough for even moderate use."
