"This alarm system is great value for money and easily fitted. I fitted the door/window contacts to a upvc front and rear door, it's important to pack out the door frame contact so that both contact bases are approximately level, otherwise the contacts will not function correctly. I had a hard wired alarm in my previous house and this had a great deal more features than this one, however this is still a great system."
"This alarm is really easy to install and set up, once you have read and understood the instructions. From box to working took less than 2 hours with an additional door/window switch. Only downside with the basic alarm is that there is a permanent 20 second delay on all PIRs and switches once triggered which could allow an intruder to make a quick escape. (the alarm pips once when triggered but doesn't go off for 20s to allow deactivation on entry)"
"Cant fault this at all, great alarm system.Took me about 3 hours with a couple of added accessories. Tested for a further hour dashing through the house and all worked perfectly. I like the key fob accessory because the alarm goes off instantly and no 20 second delay when you set it with that. Advise is to read through the manual a few times and watch the dvd a couple of times as well and you'll be fine. I used a 5.5 drill bit for the rawl plugs and they fitted nice and tight."
"For a basic system, this is hard to beat, and Screwfix were the cheapest. The supplied kit (Bell box, 2 room sensors and two door/window sensors) took less than an hour to fit all-in with just some pretty basic tools - cordless drill and screw bits. You can fit up to 20 widgets to the one unit, either when you fit it, or later on. The alarm system is basic - on or off, no zones etc - you have to pay a lot more for all that. The instructions are very clear, didn't even need the DVD, and everything worked right from the first attempt no problems. Bell box is very visible when correctly positioned being bright yellow, which can only be good. Easy to use, which is good with kids. Too early to assess reliability, but no reason to doubt as yet."
"The alarm key pad had a fault , which caused a big problem and took up some hours to detect and return to screw fix and now a pir is playing up on the replacement alarm. This is no fault of Srew Fix , who have been very helpful"
"As per the last reviewer I wanted to add additional siren/door sensor/PIR to my existing setup. At £80 it's a no brainer really. Suited what I needed as a siren is at least £40 and you get 6 pieces here. Can't comment on reliability as it's new. Screwfix....you need to give reviewers the option of completing some sections."
"Bought for installation in Philippines. Easy to install all parts. Does what is says on the box. Should act as an effective deterrent after I found recent evidence of attempted break in to my outside store. Here in Philippines possibly even your neighbor is a thief..... Did not want over complicated system, will be adding extra sensors now that I see that system is OK. Range of devices worked well for me Simple, effective and not expensive. Will buy another and fit to UK apartment front door, remainder of sensors will take to Philippines.."
"Found the system very easy to install, better using the DVD than the manual, easier to follow. This is a basic system with two PIRs and Door Sensors. I added more items at a later date to enhance the system, suppose I could have bought a more advanced system initially, but overall really pleased with system. If I had a criticism about the system it is that you can't alarm individual parts i.e. door sensors, seperately while in the house. This is available on some of the more expensive systems with electronic display keypads but hey-ho you get what you pay for."
"found the manual not helpfull dvd better had probs with the key pad would not work had friends trying to get it working, tryed everything took it back to store they were great gave us a new one then set up was ok thanks basildon store all working ok now"
"I bought this kit plus some extra sensors and a key fob. Apart from some fancy button work required for pairing the devices with the siren it was all very straightforwards.
2 things to mention for anyone thinking of purchasing the Yale system. Frist, the siren isn't desperately loud, not the end of the world but was hoping for some more oomph :o)
Secondly, fitting the Door/Window contacts to uPVC frames; the bevelled edges mean that the sensor and magnet do not fit flush to each other. This looks odd, but the system still works, you can double check the activation of it by setting it up with Blu-tac first."
"I have installed quite a few wireless alarm kits in the past on this basic yale alarm kit it does wot it says on the tin ! it takes you about 1hr max to install this kit and to add any more detectors is very easy to do, The only problem with this unit is you don`t know when it is set just a 20 second delay other wise very good kit and valve for money."
