"I bought this drill to do one specific job, namely put a 10" hole thru a brick/cavity wall for a woodburner flue. I am very impressed with it. It handled the job with ease and made light work of it. The assortment of drills & chisels meant I had everything needed in the one hit. At less than fifty quid inc vat I was surprised at how solid it was, my only gripe was i found engaging the tool bits a little awkward but that may just be me. Would definitely recommend."
"Halfway through hacking back of house off, and my expensive Hilti packs up so i dashed to screwfix and picked one of these up, i think it's excellent. Performed better then the hilti. How long for who knows, but it dosen't really matter at this price & not forgetting screwfix's excellent returns policy."
"Bought this as a breaker for tile floors and bricked up fireplaces. After taking out one fireplace by hand and then the second with 'Titan' I wish I'd bought this sooner. It makes light work of breaking tasks and I've since found more use to take plaster off walls back to stone. For the price you can't go wrong. Don't bother hiring a breaker, own a Titan."
"We bought this after realising we were going to have to drill approx 400 fixings into concrete blocks. My old Makita would have done it, but I would probably still be doing it now. Made life so much easier and quicker. A little heavy, but nothing thats unusable. Would highly recomend for the occasional user, probably not up to everyday use, but without testing who knows!"
"My 'normal' drill was a little knackered so I was in the market for a new one. Budget around £50. This one compared well to other normal drills. massive power and SDS as well. My first SDS so I was a bit worried about whether it was total overkill. Never looked back. First time I used it I was worried what I drilled into, seemed a bit soft, but that's SDS for you. Only up side on a normal drill is that they are quite light. This one is quite hefty. But great. I keep the other mains ones for small jobs as needed, and have a cheap rechargeable for other minor stuff. But this one does the heavy lifting for me."
"I am not a particularly excessive user of power tools hence the reason for the purchase at the lower end of the market. I was very surprised what £50 would buy... Excellent machine that did a little breaking, and drilling stonework for a specific job. It did exactly what it said on the box. How long it will last the jury is out.... I need a little longer to be specific on this point. But thus far I have no hesitation in giving this machine 5 stars. Pity I missed the special offer with £10 off by 24 hours. That would have been a definite bargain buy...."
"As others have said this is a heavy drill to use but the power it creates is amazing. I've used it to remove old cement on top of a gate column to replace the cap which some little prat had knocked off and removed a couple of damaged bricks in a gable end. It handled both jobs with ease and the supplied chisels and drill bits are excellent and probably worth half the price of the drill. Heavy, powerful and well worth the asking price."
"This is the first SDS drill I've owned. I'm a DIYer so I don't need something that's going to stand up to working every day for a long time. Most tradesmen would put their SDS dril to more use in a month than mine will see in my lifetime! This product has surpassed my expectations. It seems solid and business like. The tools are good quality. I just spent the weekend channelling out a wall and cutting a pipe slot in a concrete floor. It would have been impossible without this thing. It was comparatively easy with it and at the end the chisel barely looks used! I also tried drilling a concrete fence post to attach wires for climbing plants. My normal hammer drill, no chance, this thing, knife through butter. I've knocked one star off reliability because I've only used it a little bit and I get the feeling it wouldn't stand up to anyhting above DIY use. I've scored everthing else maximum but that from a DIYer's perspective. I don't reckon a tradesman would agree."
"I bought this Drill as a recommendation by a colleague - and WOW - for £49 this is an absolute dream of a Drill. The only criticism I would have was when my hands got sweaty the black on the rubber handles started to come off - but maybe that is cos it is new. I leant on it bit too much using the hammer chisel and it went in too far. So had to chop it out by hand. So why pay Virgin or a BA to fly when you can drill your own hole through to Australia - of course avoiding the Earth's core as all that molten lava etc etc - this will get you there in about 10 minutes they way it cuts through concrete like butter! Total Bargain !!"
"With more weight and power than drills costing up to ten times as much, it is the best value breaker ever. My only reservation when ordering it, was that it was described as single speed which might make it unsuitable for use with a paddle mixer. Imagine my delight when I discovered that it does have variable speed, (6 settings from 200 to 750 rpm ). This means the it is not only a powerful hammer drill and breaker, but can also double as a powerful and controllable cement mixer (with a suitable paddle attachment ). Just to clarify, the speed is set on a dial, rather than continuously variable from the trigger, which might be why the catalogue describes it as single speed. The drill has a specialist quickfit SDS PLUS chuck for chisel bits, but the package includes an adapter chuck that allows normal drill bits and standard hexagonal shaft paddle mixers to be used, which means that it exceeded my expectations and does everything I could require of it. I do not know about the long term reliability because I have not had it for long but other reviewers seem happy so I feel confident in giving it 5 stars all round and would recommend it to anyone wanting a heavy duty and versatile drill."
"I bought this to replace one that a 'friend' borrowed & managed to drop off a quay into the sea. This is the same price as the previous one I bought and it comes with a useful set of bits and a couple of chisels which is a bonus.
As my house is a Sandstone outer skin and Accrington brick inner skin, therefore everything I need to drill into is HARD. I need a big tough SDS drill as I tend to burn out regular hammer drills.
As everyone says it's a heavy brute, but when breaking concrete/stone or hammer drilling through hard brick the weight is a bonus.
When I unboxed it, I tried to lift a floor tile ... it wouldn't even break through the tile ... I was about to take it back as faulty, when I noticed that the speed selector was on 1. Safe to say once I turned it up to 6 the job went much quicker!"
"Great piece of kit and excellent value. Manual states the gearbox requires Lithium grease topup every 5 hours. Is Carlube EP2 Lithum grease OK? EP2 is an Extreme Pressure lubricant normally used for car CV joints.
"Purchaced item as a concrete breaker, which it does with ease, old fence post footings. For a drill my opinion is that it is a bit heavy if you were doing alot of drilling.Reliability given 5 but time will tell. The chisels which come with the drill are abit short, had to buy longer one from elsewhere,ScrewFix don't sell them!"
