"Bought one of theses thinking it might be a luxury and more ammunition for my wife to complain about too many tools. Now I wonder how I got by without it! So impressed I got the 18v version aswell, couple of Erbauer 8mm impact hex sockets and we were able to tarp and de-tarp our open roof bungalow in double speed during the wettest July possible. Great for driving and extracting all screws too. Thanks Erbauer for making a great bit of kit at a great price and Screwfix for supplying via a superb click and collect service (gone are the wasted hours traipsing round crowded diy stores!)."
"I absolutely love this impact driver. It's a really tough little tool and always seems to have plenty of charge left, it's well made and has a useful LED light. Great for building kitchens and general screwdriver action. Make sure you make good contact with the screw head to avoid cam-out. Awesome value for money."
"This little tool is well designed and very versatile. I find myself using it more than any of my other cordless drills and impact drivers simply because it is so light and handy. The small Lithium batteries seem to last forever and recharge quickly in the excellent included charger. It's a great choice for light to medium tasks; I even use it for mechanical jobs such as removing mower blade bolts. It has been totally reliable after 18 months' hard use and the batteries haven't lost any capacity, which makes a change from my expensive Makita NIMHs which fade to nothing after a few years.
The only thing I would like is a slightly narrower gearbox - the machine is not quite as slim as it looks."
"I've used Erbauer stuff for quite a few years - as an amateur I couldn't justify the high costs of the 'professional' gear and the Erbauer range is well priced for people like me.
This impact driver lives up to the Erbauer reputation very well! - it is light, very powerful for its size, and well matched to the batteries
I have been using it to bang 100mm x 8 screws into tannalised timbers and this driver does the job wiith relish - once or twice, it did stall when the wood was particularly hard, but when this happened I felt that I was close to breaking the screw!
The only mild drawback I found, is that the speed of the drill is very high when starting to drive a screw - I would have preferred a slower start when you first pull the trigger (hence four stars for features)
I have also scored four stars for reliability because I haven't used the driver long enough to fully assess this.
