"Very good quality , solid piece of kit , push out gromet entries, solid quality plastic lids and catch , quality seals, You can tell the quality difference between this and the Nexus. Nexus are good value as ive used them and they are pretty good , but the MK are real quality which you can tell and ofcourse more money."

Not stood test of time

"I fitted one of these in 2010. Seemed very good quality as you would expect from MK and I also liked the glands on the lid cable entries which give a very good seal.
The socket is fitted on a SW facing wall and in the winter of 2011 one of the screw retaining sleeves in the backplate which are brass came away (the plastic moulding around it had fractured).
I repaired this with epoxy adhesive and all was well.
However this year two more sleeves have come away. Luckilly I have a spare 2G backbox so I can replace it, but overall the plastic seems to have weathered badly and it doesn't look as tough.
I think I'll move it slightly and give it some more protection behind a nearby garden seat. This may be extreme weathering as we do get the weather here in Scotland but I would have expected a bit more durability for the price.
