" bought these to attach fench post (half rounds) to a wall. have used the blue ones before now, but these are far superior. Dewalt drill bit 6 mm worked a treat, then these staright in, holds really tight. "

" Fantastic screws. Really secure, even in my old, soft cheshire bricks! You just have to hope the brick doesn't break when drilling the hole with an sds drill! :-( "

Fixing quick and simple
30 May 2015
By Bubblehead54

" These are the best ever fixings for solid structures. To fix a batten in place just position the batten and drill straight though it in to the solid wall or floor using the drill bit supplied (6mm SDS). Insert the screw and screw it straight in using the T30 driver bit. I use a cordless driver to screw the screw in and my SDS+ drill for the hole. Top tip make sure the hole is good a clean before inserting the screw by moving the drill in and out a few times as it helps the screw go in easily. Also over drill the depth of the hole.
Its so easy and quick great for battens, frames etc "

easy screw, no plug needed
27 May 2015
By Doyzer

" used the 180mm to screw 100mm fence posts to thick block wall. We are talking solid blocks here that needed the pilot hole to the correct depth, when done right, it was an easy screw all the way in. I tested on a breeze block and it screwed straight in without a pilot hole. On the solid block, no chance, where the pilot hole was not quite deep enough the blot head snapped off. no way to get these out easily, so use the right drill to the right depth. The head is a bit small and could do with being bigger or have a washer added. The torque needed for 180mm was too much for my DIY cordless drill, had to use electric drill, even then you could fry an egg on it after a few dozen screws. Also had to use the lower torque setting to reverse the screw out when needed. Star bit included in pack ;-D "

super fast fixing

" I used these to attach timber to brick and they worked really well. Super fast because you can drill blind holes and put the fixing straight in. Note some of these need some odd drill sizes. I didn't notice a 6.5mm masonry bit was spec'd, so I ended up grinding down an old 7mm SDS to size. "

A doddle
26 May 2015
By SMCL
, South Queensferry
" These are great fixings, I found them more reliable than hammer fixings into concrete and brick and equally fast... as long as you drill the right size hole! If you stick to a 6mm bit you should be fine, better to be a bit smaller as you can resolve that. If you go too big you are stuffed! I used them for fixing sole plates down on a small timber frame, hanging a wall plate and fitting battens to a brick wall. The are much easier to remove and adjust than the other options and I will have a stash of thes from now on. Note however that they are not great in lightweight block and you should use a smaller pilot. "

" These masonry screws work extremely well, being quick and easy to use and providing a strong, reliable fixing via a 6mm pilot hole. The countersink head is an advantage over bolt headed masonry screws when using on final fix joinery. "

Securing shed on concrete
30 Apr 2015
By DWfromBrum
, Birmingham
" I needed to secure a metal shed to a concrete base, never done anything like this before. Checked website, asked staff in store, walked out with these, cheaper than I'd expected to pay, so that was a good start. Pleasantly surprised to find the required bit came in the box. The screws have a good weight to them, and as I only have a 14v battery combi drill, I drilled pilot holes as per instructions. Even with this low powered drill the screws went in a charm, and the one I put in the wrong place, came out with barely a blemish. The fitting is solid and I fitted 16 in about 20 mins and now looking for other jobs to use the rest !
